Christmas at the Museum of the Henry’s Fork (521 Main, Ashton, ID)
An event every week that begins at 11:00 am on Friday and Saturday, repeating until December 27, 2025

The basement of the museum has been turned into a winter wonderland! This is the sixth year that the Christmas village has been available. The Christmas village display contains over 100 buildings (many have been made to resemble local attractions) are set in front of murals of the local area done by local artist Joyce Leonard. A total of over 600 pieces are on display. The display consists of the following major sections: train table depicting the Union Pacific line from Ashton to Yellowstone National Park, Historic Ashton, Bear Gulch Ski Area, generic city, suburbs, farmland, life along the river, and Henry’s Lake/Island Park.
The museum main floor is decorated for Christmas; Ashton memories tree that is decorated with vintage photos of the Ashton area and ornaments, ginger bread men, popcorn cranberry garland, candle lights, and vintage toys. A table of nativity sets and nutcrackers as a backdrop to the “live” window.
The museum front window had been transformed into a vintage Christmas living room. Becky and Dave Harrigfeld will be dressed in clothing of the period and seated in the window to greet guests during the tractor parade on Dec. 6th.
