Join us Sat. Jan. 20 2:30pm kick off train 500 “CERT”ified disaster workers

Please join us at a kick off event with our goal to train 500 people in East Idaho as CERT disaster workers by June 2026, the 50th anniversary of the Teton Dam Flood. In preparation for that anniversary, Eastern Idaho CERT and the City of Rexburg are hosting an event on Jan. 20, 2024, to bring people together throughout East Idaho.
   When: 2:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., Saturday, January 20, 2024 
   Where: Romance Theater, 2 E. Main, Rexburg 
   Who: Citizens interested in becoming more prepared, citizen volunteers trained in CERT, and those who manage emergency services in East Idaho in any capacity For questions, please email cert@easternidahocert.org
The newly produced documentary “Flood of Memories” will be shown in the Romance Theater to showcase the many volunteers who helped with the recovery after the Teton Dam disaster. Alisha Tietjen, curator at the Teton Flood Museum, will make a brief presentation about the events of the flood and the impact of response teams. In addition, those in attendance will kick off the “500 CERTified“. During the event, a key agenda item will be to discuss how to best grow the number of CERT volunteers to reach the goal.
