SUMMARY:Film Screening in Island Park - Bears of Durango
DESCRIPTION:In 2011 Colorado Parks and Wildlife initiated a research effort to address increases in human-black bear conflicts. A team of wildlife researchers led by Dr. Heather Johnson spent six years investigating factors driving those increases and the effects of expanding development on bear populations. Dusty Hulet\, filmmaker and east Idaho native\, documented the process. Join the Henrys Fork Wildlife Alliance and the Greater Yellowstone Coalition on January 23 to screen the film “Bears of Durango.” \nRefreshments will be served at 6 p.m.\, the film will begin at 7 p.m.\, and a short panel discussion with the film maker and human-bear conflict specialists will be held from 8-8:30pm.

DESCRIPTION:After a successful film festival run\, and more than 800 screenings on PBS\, director Dusty Hulet brings his award-winning feature documentary “Bears of Durango” back to his hometown of Idaho Falls. How do we share a single landscape?” — Heather Johnson\, PhD\, Lead Wildlife Researcher. \nLearn more at www.bearsofdurango.com.\n*Note*  The film contains some strong language. \nPRESENTING PARTNERS\nThis event is part of a series of screenings made possible by the Henry’s Fork Wildlife Alliance and Greater Yellowstone Coalition.
